An evening seminar for Voluntary Board Members of London Housing Associations
|
|
|
|
In April 2002 the Housing Corporation introduced formal inspections as part of its new approach to regulation.
All housing associations with more than 250 units can now expect that at least one of their key service areas will be inspected during the next three years as part of the regulatory plan. Talking to board members is seen as an integral part of the inspection process.
An association's approach to Best Value is an area of key interest to the inspectors. Inspections will not cover the whole of an association's business but will be mainly focused on the quality of service delivered to tenants and what associations are doing to continuously improve these.
This evening seminar will help board members to prepare for and get the most out of an inspection visit by providing answers to the following questions:
- why is the Corporation introducing inspection?
- how will an inspection visit be planned and delivered?
- how should associations best prepare for an inspection?
- how will board members be expected to contribute to an inspection?
- how can boards get added value from an inspection?
- how can boards measure and report continuous improvement?
- where does inspection fit into the new approach to regulation?
