seventh national regeneration convention |
regeneration - doing it better:
engaging people, changing neighbourhoods |
 |
Programme:
The practice of regeneration and neighbourhood renewal has developed enormously in the UK over the last few years.
People have learned from what works and different approaches have been taken in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and different parts of England.
In order to showcase good practice from each country, care is being taken to ensure that presentations and workshops draw on experience from the different countries in a balanced way.
Some workshops will offer cross-country comparisons, and these will be specially badged.
The development of practice also provides a sound basis on which to address some of the key policy issues that communities and practitioners face day-to-day.
The July 2006 convention reflects this dimension by introducing surgeries and cultural sessions alongside plenary sessions and workshops.
The focus of the convention remains that of exchanging ideas, approaches and problems between those who are directly involved in renewal and regeneration.
