The Programme:
The practice of regeneration and neighbourhood renewal has developed enormously in the UK over the last few years. People have learned from what works and different approaches have been taken in Scotland, Wales and different parts of England.
In 2004, a special effort has been made to involve Scottish and Welsh practitioners, alongside colleagues from England, in planning and running the event. In order to showcase good practice from all three countries, care is being taken to ensure that presentations and workshops draw on experience from the different countries in a balanced way. Some workshops will offer cross-country comparisons, and these will be specially badged. .
The development of practice also provides a sound basis on which to address some of the key policy issues that communities and practitioners face day-to-day. The July 2004 convention reflects this dimension by introducing debates on issues such as anti-social behavour alongside plenary sessions and workshops.
The focus of the convention remains that of exchanging ideas, approaches and problems between those who are directly involved in renewal and regeneration.
The convention programme is now available to download as an rtf file as well as a large print version of the programme rtf file.
