The Event:
The third National Regeneration Convention will start on the evening of Monday 8th April and end in the afternoon of Wednesday 10th April 2002. It will be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre at Nottingham University.
This event has now firmly established itself as the forum for all those involved in regeneration to share experiences and to discuss up-to-date policy and practice and new approaches. The second Convention - in Liverpool last year - was attended by over 700 people from partnerships, local, regional and central government, housing associations, firms, consultancies and others involved in regeneration.
The bulk of the programme is filled by workshops which are designed to be as interactive as possible and which are run by people with direct knowledge of partnerships. As the range of workshops below shows, discussions will go far wider than the ideas in the National Strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal.
The programme will include a special debate hosted by New Start magazine.
As part of the process of improving this event, there will be a programme of project visits on 8th April 2002 on a first come first served basis.
As the Convention is residential, there will be opportunities for delegates to hold their own special interest meetings in the venue.
